...if one pronounces "Rossys" as Rosies or Rah-sees...or neither?
Also, one wonders where one might acquire one of those cool car stickers that say Juntos Somos Zihua?

Assuming it's Spanish, the "o" is long, so it's like Rosies.

Cynical me - I figured that "Juntos Somos Zihua" was just another meaningless jingle dreamed up by a local do-nothing politico. Wouldn't it be wonderful, (and unusual) if one day the politicians actually practised what they preach?

"Rossy's" is pronounced RO-sees.

Those "cool" "Juntos Somos Zihua" bumper stickers are political propaganda for the mayoral pre-candidate for the PRI who worked a few months in the current municipal government (after making massive donations to the current mayor's election campaign for which he was rewarded with a hueso) in the office of Urban Development awarding his own cement company bloated contracts. He's the guy who oversaw the construction of the remodeling of Plaza Kioto for 7 million pesos and the construction of the infamous Parque Lineal for 19 million pesos, among other projects. Just before finishing the Parque Lineal he quit and named his brother successor in his public office so he could begin his mayoral campaign. However he was just informed yesterday that he lost the recent poll to determine the PRI's mayoral candidate for next year's elections, and he's not happy at all, so far refusing to accept the results. So rumor is there'll be another poll taken.

Oh, and he even has foreigners helping promote his campaign though they think they're helping poor children go to school. Madness!

So are you really sure you want a bumper sticker of an allegedly corrupt seemingly anti-democratic foreigner-manipulating politician?

Completely meaningless political slogan!! Seems like the politicians here are even worse than in the US. Hard to believe, but true.

Well, I'm not into political corruption because I'm not into politics. There's a world where one wonders; a world where one can simply choose.
Choose to see soul in scoundrels, calm amid the chaos, and "cool" in jingoism.
Just like Heaven Down On Zihua Bay, is what JohnnyJ always say...
And thanks for the replies.

Bumper stickers, eh?

In the old National Lampoon you used to able to buy stickers with a screw on it so you could change someone's " I 'heart' my cat/sea otters/allegedly corrupt seemingly anti-democratic foreigner-manipulating politicians" to " I screw my cat/sea otters/allegedly corrupt seemingly anti-democratic foreigner-manipulating politicians."

Would that violate the Constitution's ban of foreigners gettin' involved in Mexican politricks?:stirpot:

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but when us anglos say "Rosies", the "s" comes out sounding like a "z" - whereas the double "s" in Rossies should still sound like "s", rather than "z".

(I was gonna write "z" as "zed", but none of you US colonials would know what I was talking about.)

Isn't it wonderful to have nothing better to do?

for 30 years we have always said ROSIE'S, 2 years ago we were told it is ROSSY'S, I don't know what is Rossys, I guess it is a little like about and aboot, we colonials use English as it was meant to be. I will always call that restaurant ROSIE'S.

"A rose by any other name would smell as sweet....."

(Although the water rushing out of the lagoon down past Rossy's today certainly didn't smell very sweet!)

Exactly right. So if any of you snowbirds actually knows the Spanish alphabet and that our pronunciation is based on phonetics (unlike that mashed up Anglo-speak you call the English language) then the pronunciation of Rossy or Rosi or Rosy becomes quite simple and will always be ROH-see, that is assuming you know that the "r" at the beginning of a word in Spanish is always trilled.
