Favorite Ixtapa Restaurant?

Hoping some of you wouldn't mind giving some advice on your favorite restaurant and/or food in Ixtapa. We're Zihua loyalists, but will be taking a cooking class in Ixtapa next weekend as part of the festival, and would like to have dinner in Ixtapa. Great atmosphere is a plus, but it's the food that counts! Any recommendations? Mucho Gracias!

I was taken by friends to Fisher's. It started in Mexico City, I was told. It's different in a cool way and the complimentary soup after you are seated is very very good, I could just order just that. Spotlight on seafood tho. They have a website, guess look up Fishers Mexico?

Would have to agree with Bogart's. It is totally different and the food, atmosphere, excellent. It is a "special" restaurant, ie more expensive than everyday...

My favorite food in Ixtapa is the Amazing Shrimp at Frank's.

El Faro at Pacifica resort. Take the cable car up the mountain for the best views in Ixtapa. Bogarts is something you go to in Cancun. Come on........... Why would you go for Indoor dining in such a wonderful place where you can view and smell the mountains and ocean. Unless you really enjoy and need A.C.

Really good food and service.Seafood soup and loncha de huachinanga a la parilla excellent,but the music(noise) and disco videos makes it hard to enjoy a dinner.

Have sat down there often,and have left immediatly because of all the noise.The only time I stayed was for superbowl and seeing a lot of very happy Packer fans

Great view,excellent food,usually nice music,but difficult to keep the timeshare guys from pestering after dinner and kind of expensive.

The best food in Ixtapa,and it is really no contest,Is served at Soleiado.However I am not sure if they will be open when you go as Caroline will close when things slow down.

While on the subject of trying something a little different/special in Ixtapa, has anyone gone to La Pampa. thanks for any input.

Really never heard of it,but if you mean La Bara,a new place across from the church,it is wonderful,great machaca,fish tacos,fish encheladas.prime rib on thursday,and the best coconut shrimp.

Actually it is advertised on the way to Ixtapa......it's in Loma Del Mar.

Why of course.. Mana Norma's and Chilli beans owned by Debroah.. Another good one was Emilio's (ribs and pizza) and another joint near that, I forget the name!!!! It is all good!

I agree. It's Soleiado. My wife and I stay in Ixtapa and it's the only restaurant that we regularly eat at in Ixtapa. All other nights we go to Zihua.

While I've been know to make the trip to Ixtapa to eat at Soleado (they also serve a great eggs benny at breakfast), my favorite place for dinner is Beccofino's, at the Marina. Expensive, but the linguini with clams can't be beat, and the chocolate mousse is to die for.

I think Fisher's is one of the best places to go, I never would have guessed based on the modern decor it but the food is fantastic.

Sounds fancy and expensive,but I would like to know about it as we try fancy at least once a trip.

I really think the only reason my wife insists we return each year is her weekly fix of that(outrageously expensive) mousse.The chocolate pecan pie at Soleiado is another reason,and the chocolate ice cream at Toscanos one more.

So freshy, so creative, beautifully prepared dishes and great service. We had to eat there twice this past week cause we had to try more dishes on their menu. Pecan crusted tuna with 3 sauces was truly delightful!

How can you beat sitting in the marina looking at the yachts as they bob with the tide?? So there is the first plus, then you will see that none of the other restaurants have more than a couple of tables but Beccofinos is filling up fast ... that should tell you right there. If you have not had the Fresh Fish of the Day Fillet with Rosemary Butter or the Antipasto or the Tiramisu, then you are missing out on a great dining experience! Always a winner!

Loved them both... I can taste the sea bass in hollandise sauce... And rancheros for b-fast... Or the shrimp taco's at chilli beans for lunch!!! Great food....

Villa de la Selva. Good food, fantastic sunsets, outdoor dining, great service. And if your lucky you might see a Coati Mundi!!

Che Mangiamo, at the marina, just above Fishers. Great pasta, surprisingly good steaks, and a very nice atmosphere. Great view of the marina, good music and good people. Try the Argentine sausage appetizer.

Morelo's! Would never miss it - but don't go late or Senor Frogs will ruin it for you!

My husband I are were in Ixtapa in January for our anniversary. We went to La Pampa because of recommendations from our Apple Rep and the Dorado. The food was very good, however, very expensive and we were somewhat disappointed with the view. Great view of the hotel zone, but no sunset view. Place is very small, but nicely decorated. We both had a steak which came with potato. We split a salad and both had one drink. Our bill was $100 USD, which we consider pricey. Personally, we enjoyed El Faro better, but La Pampa is a nice place and I hope it stays in business.
