Another successful and happy trip in what we call one of our 3 homes in our family lives..Seattle, USA, Milano, Italy and Zihuatanejo, MX. We have been coming here for the past 10 years and on average a couple of times a year and for some reason I feel that it's time for a report on a beautiful place. We have made some great friends that always welcome us back with the best smiles and we just feel just very comfortable here, with a great sense of relaxation and body recharging. We never had issues with locals or taxis or anything else, we walk from la Ropa to el centro all the time and people are just flat out friendly! I would like to insert my personal opinion about this "crime" scare in Mexico that is so annoying...Crime is everywhere on the planet, some locations more then others ( and if you are saying there is no crime where you live, you are either lying or have no clue about your surroundings). I think in Zihuatanejo the scale is on the low side compared to the rest of the planet. If you have been , like us, to many countries on this earth you would most likely agree. Just use common sense, be respectful of the country and the language and enjoy time in paradise.

We normally stay at Club Intrawest on la Ropa since we are members, but we had the pleasure of staying in other places as well. For a newcomer there are several beautiful choices on la ropa, depending on your budget.

Club Intrawest is a gorgeous place with friendly personnel, who throughout the years they have become more like family and treat you like family, always with a smile on their faces. Some of them have moved place of work in the area and it's amazing and rewarding when you meet those people downtown or at a new restaurant , or in a different resort and they hug you like you are their lost brother! I had those type of emotions only in Italy, where I am from, and it's one of the main reasons why we come back here!

We always make new friends and discover new places and often we say: "How did we not see or try that before??". Staples in our food choices are:( Too many too mention and probably at least a dozen more just as good!) " Bandidos" ( Hola Jesus! One of our longtime friends!), "Katrina" ( great new spot!) " Los Brasseros"(Tacos al Camaron!) , " La Sirena Gorda" ( Tacos des Pulpo!), Acopio @ Club Intrawest, breakfast are stunning, with a to die for view, and dinners are fantastic! Fantastic food values here, good quality at a decent price considering the stunning location and ambiance. For a terrific experience and a culinary journey we always recommend ( beside Acopio) " La casa Que Canta" ( just amazing, we had probably the best meal ever this time!!), "Amuleto" ( Great sunset views with awesome food) " Kau Kan" " Tentaciones" and anything in the Viceroy!
Either a drink with friends, breakfast, lunch or dinner, the Viceroy ( I liked the name Villa Del Sol so much better!!!) is a fantastic place to hang out with friends!! And we had the pleasure of doing so this time, thank you Dione and Len and thank you longtime friend Hugo!!
LOOT is a new coffee/Lunch/Surf/Clothing coffee lounge-shop located behind the Viceroy and it has become one of our favorites spots on la Ropa for a great Cappuccino ( the best one in Zihuatanejo hands down) a different location for a quick delicious lunch . LOOT is part of a new upcoming Residential project on La Ropa (NAO) soon to be completed by some amazing people!! If you are in the market for a quality condo on La Ropa go and check this out!

Some evenings they also have an amazing food truck parked outside called SantaMaria MX where you can enjoy great food!! Maybe I should say amazing after tasting the Octopus Ceviche tacos!! Great job guys!!!
Days on La Ropa are just amazing and walking up and down the beach a couple, three times a day is part of the experience. Paddle boarding has become a ritual as well and I miss this life every day!! Thank you Jose Luis and Felipe and all the hermanos working on la ropa everyday!! Thank you Marie @ Intrawest for the turtle program and for keeping ties with the locals.
As always, sunset are always amazing here and that time of day has always a particular effect on most people...magical...romantic...and never gets old!!!!!

I have been taking hundreds of picture of this lovely place during the years, but nothing can replace of being physically there...images are a great reminder but... feeling the sun on your skin, enjoying the people and the amazing nature is priceless. Can't wait to go back!!
Thank you Rob for keeping this up! Looking forward to see all my friends soon and hopefully one day to own a piece of paradise as well !! ( hint...Sotavento? still dreaming !!)
Thank you all for supporting Zihuatanejo!! If you love this place get involved and help the community, every single donation and or smile to this amazing locals are much needed for a mutual respectful sharing of this undeniable spectacular and heartfelt world class destination.

Wow! Great photos, great report. Thank you, Mirco!

ps: looks like your weather was much better than ours. Just finishing our second day of sun after three cloudy, rainy, sunless days. But the food has been outstanding.
