They are not up to the Irma yet. All torn up, but detours in place.

They are working so slowly as to assure they will go over budget and make the contractor even more money than the lousy job they are doing could possibly justify, but then that was the whole purpose.
The people and businesses of La Ropa just wanted the potholes fixed. The politicians wanted to approve a huge project with a huge budget so they could take their huge bite from it in order to enrich themselves and finance their current election campaigns.
It still isn't as corrupt as the USA's Citizens United ruling, but it leaves just as bad a taste in the mouth.

The detour is from Kyoto to where the road curves to the right just past the Bomberos. They are starting to tear up the sidewalk from that point up to Il Mare, as of yesterday.

If you are coming in with a moho or 5th wheel trailer, there are easy, safe ways around the construction.
Just ask.

Well as of yesterday afternoon, things have progressed. We are now down to one lane for both directions from the curve just past the Bomberos pretty much to El Mare...and moving on down the road. For the rest of the way, there are no detours to take, so it will be slow going from now until they finish. Hope that's not the rest of my life!
