Catholic Mass in Ixtapa

Don't know when they started it but today they had Mass at 2 pm in the Loma Del Mar section of Pacifica (Pacifica Spa). I had gone down to the pool at noon and saw a room all set up with chairs and a cross and other items on the wall. I ask the bar tender and he said they were having the Mass at 2 today. The priest did part in English and there were other parts done in Spanish. I thank normally it is held later but did it at 2 pm because of the Super Bowl. When you come through the main gate, the first road on the left is to the older Golf units and you go there- it is held in a building between the 2 sections. I thank you would park if driving in the lot on the right as you enter the resort. Kathie had been sick yesterday and was still in recovery and with us here so she went down and really enjoyed the Mass.

Paulf, is this something that just started as we stay at the Pacifica but usually go to the Barcello next door (Sunday at 10 I think (maybe 11)).
Tried the mass last year on Sunday morning at the church down by Kyoto square. Was suppose to start at 9. We got there about 8:50 & they were 30 % through. Go figure. Went to the Barcello the following Sunday.
Any additional info would be appreciated as we come down in a few weeks (i.e. time, is this every Sunday, etc. ?). Gracias.

It appears Mass is held at Pacifica on Sunday at 5pm- this week because of Super Bowl was moved to 2. Pacifica has put a door in a building that is between the lower level Golf units and Pacifica Spa(formerly Loma Del Mar). You can take a van to the Golf and not have to take the stairs or ramp from the 4th floor down to the ground level. Coming from Golf there will be a sign saying reception- the Mass is held in that building. Before the building was the kitchen for Loma Del Mar. Being on points we were able to exchange a week of the Grand to a week at the Spa and love it because of the quietness and the landscape especially at night. If any questions email me for there have been changes to the routine of restaurants openings at Pacifica.

Curious as to what you mean by "there have been changes to the routine of restaurants openings at Pacifica".
I know the Pacifica gives you very little info thru the year as to what's changed. You usually do not find out what's new or changed until you get there, unless I can find someone like you & get some inside info.
We'll be down in a few weeks for a 2 week stay. First week we're on our own eating, second week we have AI, so any info on changes would be much appreciated.
