Getting Clear on $ Exchange Options - Help!

Do not get pesos in the USA. Friends here now decided they needed to arrive with pesos (against our advice) and paid about US$600 for 7500 pesos at their USA bank. That same 7500 pesos would have cost them a touch over US$500 at an ATM here. Big penalty!
