Fun Sunday times in Zihua...
Never a dull moment in this place so at times I need some sleep too. But Sunday morning I got awaken at 08:30 by the sound check for Guitarfest on La Madera. Needless to say, this was not the highlit of the day. A nice breakfast at Hotel Irma with friends helped put me in the right mood for the rest of the day. It did not hurt having a nap in a hammoc at the hotel in the afternoon. Relaxed for most of the afternoon and headed out to la Rana Rene on La Madera for my midday meal, a good guacamole and tiritas with a nice old Victoria, then came back to the hotel and shower, changed and took some pictures of the sunset and the Guitarfest set-up.
Then it was time to head out to La Cancha. Sunday there is one of my favorite thing about Zihua. I love the people watching and the food carts. There's always some activities on the basketball court and sometimes it's not my thing but the rest of what is going on make up for it. I started out with a refreshing glass of pepina juice, a mix of cucomber and mint juice. Very refeshing and also very healthy. Then it was the wait for my empenada. Very popular stand and well worth it. Watched some of the music going on and met a couple friends and had a nice chat before escorting a family to Guitarfest.
Awesome show last night with all the performers being there. A few Canadians were showing their skills and did very well. Also saw a friend I watched last year at Coconuts. Then went back to my hotel to watch some more relaxing on our balcony with a few other guests. Fun times were had by all.
Slept in today and went for another yummy breakfast at Margaritas. Had a nice conversation with one of the owner who is such a nice person and enjoyed a perfect meal again. Then it's back at the hotel to relax some more before going for my espresso at El Cafecito. I need my coffee fix and these folks do the best in town in my view plus a great place for people watching. Who knows what the evening will bring...
