Sotovento?

Noticed Sotovento is in disrepair - large cracks, weathered etc and vacant.
Does anyone know the status of it or what has happened to the unfortunate people that have put a deposit down?

Sotovento, sigh
Where I stayed the first several years I visited Zihua
I am still searching for any place to stay, rent or buy with a terrace so high, so deep, so wide as that communal second floor patio.

I stayed at Sotavento for my first 8 years in Z, probably on the same floor (the one right above the dining room). Maybe our paths even crossed, although there were seldom more than a couple of people on the floor to share that great terrace. It was all so wonderfully laid back. Burned into my memory were the Canadian mother and daughter duo who would get outrageously drunk and stand on the terrace every night at midnight and sing "O Canada." I remember one guy from Michigan told me, "It's funky, but God help me, I love it." So true. Sad to see it unused and in such rough shape. For the last several years, beach talk was that the new owners went bankrupt, but last year I heard it wasn't the developers that went broke, it was the construction company they'd hired to do the job and that the developers were planning to go ahead with the project. Here's hoping.
There was a rumor that construction would resume in March under new investors. This is April so someone should be able to verify if that ever happened. The website that's up now, Sotoventois Beach Villas, is offering both full ownership and time share options. The developer is listed as Epic Real Estate Solutions. No date on the webpage. It's an inquiry page only. No information or listings.
An entity named Trevor Redfern (I think this Trevor the Third) is still sending emails offering me the chance to buy in before it's too late. I received the last email on February 15.
I'll believe it when I see it. Since we stay in the room at Catalina that is right next to the old Sotavento dining room, I really try to keep up as best I can on when the noise might start.

No work underway as of 27 April 2015.
I am shocked!! Shocked, I tell you. No one will be more taken by surprised than I will if they ever do start work again. Thanks for the report.
