On Z Old Paseo

Zihuatanejo's downtown beachfront walkway has been one of its icons for decades, since long before my first time here in '74. Parts of it remain much like it was 40 or more years ago. My neighbor's Casa de Huéspedes "La Playa" is fortunately one of the places that still retains the ambiance of old-fashioned Zihuatanejo. Simple rustic timeless beauty. It's a damn shame to see newcomers arrive here and build multistory abominations on the Paseo while prospering from an image they have nothing to do with and to which they contribute nothing.

¡Viva Zihuatanejo antiguo!

On this we agree 100%. It is a shame that whichever government party is in power here can be swayed to allow this stuff.

Make them leave it alone! This is one of the things that does not need change.

Arriving in Zihua this past March, i couldn't find the beach. THAT is becoming a common thing for beach towns. They allow development, hotels, restaurants, tourist trap stores to hide, even cover the beaches. It's really lame.
