I've already mentioned that my favorite trees are the Flamboyant trees, and now is the time of year when they're blooming everywhere, adding a brilliant red flash to the hillsides and gardens throughout the tropics.

I have 4 growing in the greenhouses at work just a year old so no bloom yet.
Gorgeous! Not much real red when we're there in March. Just the buganvilla -- more a fuchsia -- and the amazing orange African tulip trees. Thanks, Rob, for reminding us seasonal visitors that Zihua's beautiful all year 'round.
