It has been three years since I have been to zihua.We stayed at the Catalina in one of thr linda vista suites for many years.We would like to go back this FebuaryIs the hotel still owned by the same person?I know Villa del sol has different owners

Yes, still owned by the same people. There have been some remodeling improvements, but nothing to alter the overall ambiance of the hotel that best represents the feeling of Old Zihuatanejo.

Not only is it owned by the same folks, my understanding is that they are a valuable local business that is VERY active in their community. We would much rather stay in a hotel that is locally owned so that our $$ stay in the local economy.

Rob, although there are many fine places to stay, it might be useful to those of use that like to support local businesses, if the locally owned establishments were identified. (Not that I'm planning to stay anywhere other than Catalina. It is our Nirvana.)

It would be nice to see you again. Catalina is the same as always. No worries.
