View from Pacifica Resort in the 80's
No pool or restaurant, and the cable car construction was still on going, The President of Mexico at the time, would have his yacht just a few steps from his Beach Villa that was near the Sheraton now the Barcelo. It's now fenced in and the jungle has taken over. I'm sure some squatters call it home.

I remember watching the storms pound the pier so badly during the late summer of '89 that the government removed the dangerously crumbled remnants so they wouldn't be a hazard to swimmers. Now it's my favorite body-surfing spot.
