<title>Eggs Benedict at Deborah’s (reply)</title>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We probably visited my parents over 20 times on Sanibel as they spent about 25 winters there. Perhaps you cooked me a meal at one of the many great restaurants there. Clam strips and key lime pie at The Mucky Duck made for a great lunch. When we took a tour of Key West one afternoon, the tour guide stated that the strain of limes used for the pies only were grown in the Keys. Maybe not correct, but thats what she said. OK, I'm done with this thread, I'm on vacation.</p>

<p>If you go to Deborahs and like the key lime pie, I will know that you have never even been close to Key West. And Rob, I've never been critical of anything on your board that I don't have first hand knowledge of- unlike several other contributors here whose time in Zihua is spent replying to almost every thread. The next time you see Deborah, ask her if she uses key lime juice for her recipe. I asked her and she told me no. I'm really only bashing this item on her menu. Yes she works hard and hustles. Tough, shrewd business woman also.</p>
</blockquote><p>FYI, the limes you know as &quot;key limes&quot; used to make Key Lime Pie in Key West or anywhere else in Florida are exactly the same limes we have and use here. Absolutely no difference.</p>
<p>I used to make wonderful Key Lime Pies that would pucker anyone's lips as well as the best Mousse au Chocolat in the world way back when I was still an enthusiastic restaurant worker in Sanibel Island, Florida in another life. Deborah may have her own recipe. I couldn't for the life of me remember how to do all that stuff anymore. I married a Mexican saint of a woman who for close to 30 years now runs me out of the kitchen except to wash dishes. Now I'm an enthusiastic <em>mandilón</em>.</p>
<p>I don't recall if I've ever tried Deborah's Key Lime Pie so I can't comment on it. I just thought your criticism was a bit harsh, but you are certainly entitled to your opinion. No problem there. Saludos.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Perhaps he is the same guy sitting near our table at Soleiado and giving detailed instructions about how to prepare his French toast. When it came he was rude and said if he knew it came on such thick bread he would not harve even ordered it.<br />
Got it replaced on normal sandwich bread, Some people.</p>

Hard to believe you went to the same restaurant as my family and friends have enjoyed so many times over the years along with thousands of regular visitors.</p>
