FYI, the limes you know as "key limes" used to make Key Lime Pie in Key West or anywhere else in Florida are exactly the same limes we have and use here. Absolutely no difference.

I used to make wonderful Key Lime Pies that would pucker anyone's lips as well as the best Mousse au Chocolat in the world way back when I was still an enthusiastic restaurant worker in Sanibel Island, Florida in another life. Deborah may have her own recipe. I couldn't for the life of me remember how to do all that stuff anymore. I married a Mexican saint of a woman who for close to 30 years now runs me out of the kitchen except to wash dishes. Now I'm an enthusiastic mandilón.

I don't recall if I've ever tried Deborah's Key Lime Pie so I can't comment on it. I just thought your criticism was a bit harsh, but you are certainly entitled to your opinion. No problem there. Saludos.

Worst key lime pie I have ever had.I think it was lime jello thrown into a pie crust. Ate at the new place twice-really mediocre food and service. Want go back.

How disappointing to see you say such things here when I know Deborah and her staff work extremely hard to provide a quality product and to give excellent service. Hard to believe you went to the same restaurant as my family and friends have enjoyed so many times over the years along with thousands of regular visitors.

We gotta go there some day...it's just that Ixtapa seems s-o-o f-a-a-a-r a-w-a-a-a-y!

After her Thankgiving or Christmas dinners it takes at least a couple of days to stop waddling because it’s fairly impossible to pass up her fantabulicious homemade pies that she puts so much TLC into!
