Nice report guys and seem like my kind of week. And frankly I wish I would have done the walk on La Ropa instead of Winnipeg as although it was warmer than it has been the last 3 weeks prior, it still was several degrees colder. Enjoy your remaining time in Zihua!

Thank you for sharing this wonderful report! Interesting comments about your friend the marine biologist. We certainly feel privileged with our fresh seafood here, though we could certainly use the enforcement of fishing laws so that we don't continue to decimate and fish out local species as we've done with several varieties of mollusks.

Trip Report Week 2

Our 2nd week found us exploring.

We took double kayaks out early Sunday morning for a paddle around the bay. The waves were not too high and the bay allowed us to explore some of the beaches you can't walk to.

When we arrived back to our beach the bread man was there with a basket of those wonderful rolls. He pulled the towel back for us to see his bread but the smell of fresh bread was intoxicating!

Monday we drug ourselves up early to have breakfast across from the fish market. Our friend is a Fisheries Biologist and has worked as a Fisheries inspector. Needless to say he was very impressed with what he saw at the fish market!

After breakfast we went to the Mercado. There is no place better to see and buy produce kissed by the sun! Again our friend was impressed by the variety of fish he saw there.

On our way back we decided to check out the changes at the big grocery store, "Mega". It's a good place to get a variety of goods in one place.

Tuesday we caught the bus to Los Achotes and passajera truck to La Barra. While out there we walked the beach, took a lagoon tour and had a variety of appeptizers. Catching the passajera and bus back was easy. It was the perfect day!

Wednesday we did a fish market tour and cooking class with Monica at Patio Mexica. We learned to make ceviche, tiritas and fish tacos. Along the way to the fish market Monica showed us a few shops introducing us to their specialities. She also had us sampeling cheese. We learned more about our area then we could have on our own.

Thursday we enjoyed our area of Madera. It is amazing how Playa Madera has grown since our first visit in 2004.

Friday our friends took the same transportation method to Playa Larga that we did to La Barra de Potosi. We stayed back to do house chores. Our friends returned that afternoon with wonderful stories of their adventure including seeing whales.

Saturday was departure day for our friends. They went to centro to pick up a few things to bring home while we did the women's march on La Ropa.

We are now on our own and excited to see what more we can explore.
