Climate Change and Zihua (reply)

My second year living here, but yeah, it has been cold in the morning. 14-15 degrees. It is 16.6 (62) right now at 7am.

Now, you Canadians may think that is some kind of freakish heatwave, but to this Southern Californian, that is time for long pants, a flannel shirt and a YouTube fireplace video.

Now I understand why Soriana sells doggie sweaters. Brrr.

As far as the weather, I found it to be the most comfortable ever since I have been coming here and that's over 33 years. This season was the best yet.

I was here during that October to December period and found it pleasant. I’m finding it awfully cool now. It’s 7.00 p.m. and I’m thinking of putting jeans on!

It is kind of nice at 7.00 a.m. when I do my morning walk, but it was pleasant in October- December too. Just a different kind of pleasant.

Climate Change and Zihua (reply)

Ayone who has experienced a few years of February and March weather in Zihua cannot help but notice the relatively low temperatures and humidity over the past month or more, especially the cool nights. We were also here for a month from mid-November to mid-December, but found it uncomfortably hot and humid, relative to previous years.

We're newbies - only 17 or 18 years in Zihua to compare - but could the current weather be a harbinger of things to come as a result of climate change? If February and March are "the new normal", bring it on!

It's common that cool sea currents keep us cool on the coast at this time of the year. I've seen it last all the way until the second week of May some years.
