It sure looks like the rocket-bombs are back. We had a couple of quiet evenings, but then Thursday and Friday the bomb-like explosions continued. As usual, the complaints of residents and visitors fall on deaf ears in the churches and the ayuntamiento.

The downtown waterfront wasn't very crowded this evening. Met some website readers at La Porteña who said they were dining there on my recommendation. I hope they enjoyed their delicious-looking meals.

Didn't see a cloud in the sky most of the day until the late afternoon, and then there were some cumulus clouds to the northeast in the sierra. Hope they got some rain. It's still a bit on the humid side, but for me it's comfortably warm. Visitors may feel a bit hot until they've been here a little while.

Don't forget that Saturday morning is the Eco-Tianguis "Sanka" in the small plaza in front of the Vicente Guerrero Primary School across the street from the museum. They ALWAYS have delicious and healthy foods, produce, interesting beverages (including locally grown coffee), as well as arts, crafts, music and interesting lectures. From 9:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

The weekend is here! That means it's a good time to visit El Refugio de Potosí, which is only open on weekends. This center for wildlife conservation and environmental education features a fully reconstructed sperm whale skeleton (the only one in Mexico), an observation tower, a wheelchair accessible footpath for observing local flora and fauna, and a butterfly pavilion. Located near the beach on the road to Barra de Potosí. Perfect for the entire family.
