This Friday city workers trapped and removed a small cocodrilo that lived in La Boquita canal. It posed no threat to anyone. Never bothered anyone. It was known and looked after by many neighbors. The city has now traumatized it (I saw the video) and taught the young cocodrilo that humans are a threat, making it more dangerous to humans than it had previously been. It's bad enough the city cuts down scores of trees to pour cement for projects of dubious necessity, but worse yet that the city lies to locals and visitors about why it does such things as cut down trees and remove wildlife. No report was ever made public about the death of the swimmer at Playa Quieta a few weeks ago, but by all eyewitness accounts two people were attacked by sharks, but endeavoring to simulate their responsibilities, the city government insists it was cocodrilos and has started a campaign of harassment against them, i.e. removing cocodrilos from their homes, that will only make the cocodrilos potentially more dangerous to humans because now they view humans as a threat. It makes me want to put a noose on a pole and go drag whoever made this decision out of their home and terrorize them the way the cocodrilo was terrorized yesterday.

The cifras alegres were even better today for Zihuatanejo with an alleged 84.5% occupancy in its hotels. Beaches are packed. Parking is a nightmare. Crowds of people are everywhere.

The visit by the cruise ship Volendam probably didn't result in many sales, but I saw people from the boat wandering downtown and smiling, apparently enjoying themselves. Maybe they'll be back, or at least tell good things to their friends and relatives. I know there was quite a party going on at Playa Principal, lots of families having a fun time, so I hope that made a good impression on our cruise ship visitors. ¡Buen viaje!

Friday was another cool night that required sleeping under the sheet. Days remain plenty warm and even a bit hot, just enough to make a cool drink refreshing, and ice cream sales are also doing well. Our weather will likely remain just like this day after day until the middle of May.
