Not only do the fellow riders greet you, they will practically sit on top on one another to make room for you!

I hope you are not travelling Wednesday. Supposed to be no taxis or combis anywhere. Not sure about Terestre at the airport. If so, hope you can find someone with a car.

Our cabbie tonight, (Tuesday) said everything will be back to normal on Wednesday. Who knows?

I have done this transportation at least three ways, depending on what time I arrive, where I am going, and what I am carrying.

No doubt getting a Transporte Terrestre is the easiest and fastest. It is also the most expensive, but after a day or more of traveling, easy and fast can be appealing.

At the other extreme, when I have arrived with only carryon or a reasonable suitcase, and my destination has been Zihuatanejo, I have walked across the lot and hopped on a combi. Or if I wanted to do a bit of shopping before going to Troncones I would take a combi, do my shopping, then get a taxi to Troncones.

A few occasions, as I have been waiting for a combi, a taxi driver would ask if I wanted a taxi. If I liked the fare, I would take it. The TT fare to Troncones is ~M$1,400. I have agreed to M$800 with a city taxi, more if I wanted to stop for groceries.

Depending on your destination, it can be a savings of far more than $200 pesos.

It was just a question. I have heard it being done but never tried it. I support everything local. This is our 31st year coming to the area. Each year its 3-5 weeks. My wife arrived last Wednesday and informed me that pesos i gave her for the taxi to Ixtapa hotel was not $680 as shown on the website rather she said it was $550. I am arriving Sunday for 3+ weeks split between Ixtapa and LaRopa. The changes overall and different restaurant owners have been amazing in 31 years. It is truly paradise as Rob says.

Possible, yes. I don't recommend it. I recommend taking the Transporte Terrestre's Servicio Colectivo.
