I can attest to the comments about Aura del Mar. Wonderful hotel, great staff and you get breakfast included at their beautiful restaurant on the beach!

We have been staying in Ixtapa since the middle of January…. I know I can hardly believe it myself… we ventured over to Zihua today and it was very busy….. we have 1 week left here and will miss it even more this year when we go…… Aura del Mar is a fantastic spot we first started staying there over 20 years ago and have been back many times since….Can’t go wrong if you chose to stay there…… Saludos

I don't know where they put them all, but busloads, vanloads and truckloads of tourists overloaded Las Gatas and Isla Ixtapa. Not sure if the limits of people allowed were enforced. The streets are full. The plazas and beaches are full. Almost everywhere you look there are families and groups of visitors wandering or sitting and enjoying themselves. And the weather is cooperating, except that the water is nipper for locals, but not so much for people coming from much colder climes.

There's a good-sized wedding party taking place at Casa Arcadia on the downtown beach. Good music so far, everyone looks to be enjoying themselves. Gonna be some dancing! Lupita and I wish a long and happy marriage to the newlyweds!

Enjoy the weekend! It's going to be crowded!
