We are up in San Miguel right now. But my guess it was a fog from the temperature inversion. Cold water/Hot air. It has happened many times this year. FYI we have driven all over here 2 hrs.in different directions and have seen only light smoke issues.

The mar de fondo seems to be helping to disperse the marea roja. While the marea rojo is still visible, it doesn't seem to be as concentrated and dense, which is hopefully a good sign that it's being diluted. The water is being tested daily, but so far no warning has been issued not to fish for or to consume bivalve mollusks, though I wouldn't eat them now anyway until there's no red or brownish hue in the ocean.

While much of inland Guerrero as well as Oaxaca and Michoacán has been suffering high temps, here along the coast our temps have remained perfect. Even Cuernavaca, the city of eternal spring, and Mexico City had temps in the mid-30's C. Extremely high for them. While here we still pull a bedsheet up for warmth during the wee nighttime hours. But soon for us the winds will die down, the ocean temperature will increase, the air temperatures will warm up the the upper 30's C, the smokiness will increase, and we'll all begin to notice ourselves perspiring as soon as we step out of the shower. Those conditions will probably last several weeks before the next big event of the year occurs: the first rain of the rainy season. Hurricane season starts in less than a month! Let's hope for no direct hits!

Crocodile hysteria continues. At least no one is thinking about sharks who statistically speaking are a much bigger threat than local crocs.

A slow day tourist-wise in Zihuatanejo. This is the time of year when we get to see our friends and neighbors more as people are less busy.
