Dancer with tall black hat festooned with gold
He is sporting a black beard and mustache
He’s from Nutcracker Suite, tales Hoffman told
Toy wanting to live beyond your behalf

Dancer doomed dancing to another’s whim
All you can give is a tug on the string
Freedom to dance is life to him
I think we know what his one wish would bring

Be lithe
Be agile
Be quiet
And you will be a real dancer

Tolstoy Toy Story, ballet is the cruelest dance
Mixing old men’s desires with school girls’ romance
