The dance club, Chololo Club, was next door at Sun and Moon.

Yes, that's where I took Lupita on our first date back in '74. And I left some cassette tapes there with Jorge Tortuga that became the favorite dance music there. We just called it Chololo.

The photo is from 2019. I'm not sure what Irma thought they were going to do with this part of their property. Looks like a special event area. I don't recall if they had a discotheque there. Not one I ever went to.

The first tropical disturbance zone is being forecast to become active just to the south of us in the next few days with a 30% probability of development. Oh boy. The fun begins. May 15th is the official beginning of our Hurricane Season.

The smoke showed up again this morning. Not too bad, but it kept the sky hazy much of the day. It seemed a tad more humid, too, though I don't see it reflected in the weather stats. Expect more smoke in the coming days before the rains begin. Also expect higher temperatures, expected to reach 35°C by the end of the week.

One thing I love about Mexico: people who don't vote like me are still my friends. We all have more in common than not: love for family, friends, community and Mexico being way up there. Election season is well underway, and like anywhere, most of us already know for whom we're going to vote. But it rarely gets in the way of our friendships or relationships. Nothing at all like what the world is watching in the USA. We hope the USA heals soon.
