Happy dancers move to the rhythms of their danzón music in Plaza del Artista this Friday evening while passersby grin in shared joyfulness. A lovely old Zihuatanejo tradition.

Meanwhile, at the Cancha Municipal groups of folkloric dancers entertain folks with their regional music and dances while wearing their bright and colorful traditional. Their lovely smiles are contagious, and many observers smile back in appreciation.

We enjoyed another stunning day of beautiful weather, waking to temps cool enough to pull a bedsheet over me. Still no rain in our forecast, but it keeps getting closer. The waves from the mar de fondo haven't been very big, and once again swimmers were enjoying the clear warm waters of Zihuatanejo's bay from first light until past sunset.

Many of us were awakened last night by the abrupt jolt of a 4.3 earthquake just before midnight. As far as I know there were no damages, but shortly afterwards there was another temblorcito in Acapulco.

If you're in Ixtapa, remember that this Saturday is the Triatlón and roads will be closed early until after the events finish. Don't forget film for your camera! Deborah's Restaurant is a great place to park yourself and enjoy the action.

A favorite location for many visitors, Amor del Sol located overlooking Playa La Madera is an extremely comfortable and nicely appointed condominium that offers from 1 to 3 bedrooms (only pay for what you need!). The complex has a pool, but the ocean at La Madera is often calm enough for easy swimming.
