Hola
Thanks for featuring the Buena Vista Social Club in your post. I have had the pleasure of watching them perform in Cuba on several different occasions. I don't know how they could produce such beautiful music with such a large band ( at least 10 people with brass and stringed instruments). A lot of them have passed on now but their music remains.
PS
I guess old age has got a good grasp on me. I had to edit this post several times after originally posting it because of several screw ups. I am doing my best not to let the old man in, but the little bastard still manages to sneak in sometimes.

I appreciate Spellcheck more and more with each year.

Correction, all the tourists were apparently at Las Gatas or some OTHER beach. But lots of them sure came out last night after I posted my message to take a stroll and have a snack along the waterfront.

The water is divine right now for swimming.

Hardly a tourist around today, at least in our part of town. However, summer vacation season begins next week when schools across Mexico officially let out for the summer until August 26. Let's hope it doesn't turn out to be a bust. However, I believe the hurricanes that hit Acapulco and now Cancún and Cozumel could be beneficial for us. But I've seen no advertising anywhere. Our municipal tourist office says they have posters in several airports (¿?) and billboards on highways in some northern states. I wouldn't expect those to generate any positive results for us.

Even though we all work pretty much every day, Sunday is still a day when we rest a bit more. The day started off with fresh bolillos rellenos from the mercado, a longtime local tradition, and one of my favorites. The days always seem better when we have bolillos or fresh tamales for breakfast. And days like today still make me feel like the luckiest Gringo in Mexico.

Check out Villa Don Manuel. A bed and breakfast inn offering six comfortable one-bedroom bungalows located in a coconut grove across the road from the beach of Playa Blanca in Barra de Potosí just south of Zihuatanejo. Amenities include mini-fridge and pool.
