In Anchorage our well was 276 ft deep. Here in Hamilton MT our well is 40 ft deep. The water table is 5 ft below the surface. When they dug the trenches for the footing for our house, they filled with water, so no worries about running out anytime soon. We're at 3700 ft elevation.

Here in Atlantic Beach, where my wife grew up, the maximum allowable hardscape for a house relative to the lot size is 45%. That includes the house, driveway, pool, patios and decking. If in a teardown scenario, you want to remove a tree, there must be an application to the zoning board and a plan to mitigate it with other mature trees. It rains a good bit here in the summer especially at the end of the day. There are many freshwater ponds that are replenished through the water table and that water is recycled through our sprinkler systems, which is far cheaper than using potable water. In the winter, when it doesn't rain as much and it is cooler, there is less demand for recycled water. As a result, there is a nice canopy of trees, it is good ecologically and good on the wallet.

We should come down to Zihua to cool off. 40C today in the southern interior of British Columbia, and supposed to be 42C tomorrow.

On the other hand, the humidity here is only 19%, so we'll stick it out. We find Zihua's November/December humidity oppressive, so May/June/July must be pretty unpleasant. We're originally from eastern Canada, where summers are hot and humid. Here tonight, the temperature is going down to 18C.....a drop of 22C.

Not sure what the delay is, but the Museo Arqueológico de la Costa Grande de Guerrero remains closed after having its roof repaired, a new entrance added on the street side, and every square centimeter of open ground paved with the mayor's cement. No more cute little garden courtyard. Now it's a cement oven radiating heat during much of the day and into the night. Another piece of open ground covered unnecessarily with cement. We all need to be striving to preserve more green spaces where the ground can breathe and absorb water. In just a few short years, besides paving over a third of the downtown beach, my part of town has lost most of the open ground at Plaza del Artista, Plaza Olof Palme (which doesn't exist anymore) the courtyard at the museum, and behind the museum where the giant chess piece stands (itself covering what used to be open ground). All places where the rainwater can no longer soak into the ground. You'd be surprised how much every little bit helps when our area floods.

We enjoyed another perfect day, though with very few visitors visible downtown. The waves seemed to have calmed down. The forecast calls for a rainy week ahead starting this Tuesday and continuing into Thursday while a tropical wave passes by. We could sure use the rain, though it will unfortunately foul up the bay water, which I thought would already be fouled by the dredging in Laguna Las Salinas, but so far we've only noticed minimal unpleasant effects if any from the dredging.

They offer a lovely 2-story vacation home made up of two spacious 1-BR modern apartments with fully equipped kitchens, and a pool. Rent the bottom apartment individually or the entire home.
