We decided on Restaurante Bistro del Mar on Playa Madera for our Christmas Day Dinner. We were excited they were open, as we’ve enjoyed nice meals there on prior trips and love the ambiance and service. Just a really well-run operation.

This time…they knocked it out of the park! Two of the very best fresh tuna and mahi-mahi dinners we’ve ever had in Zihua (and that’s too many to count). The gentleman playing piano, and then guitar, was amazing as well. They have a decent wine selection, and we enjoyed a Mexican blanco with our meals, topped off with a crème brûlée for dessert. A really wonderful first night back in paradise!

Really glad to hear that. Since on official holidays workers must be paid twice their normal daily wage, many businesses opt to close, as is the intent of an official holiday.

Quattro Casa de Cafe is open Christmas day.

Are you referring to the cafe on Altamirano en el Centro? I think it is spelled with a "C," right? Cuattro Casa de Cafe. And then I think they also spell it Cuatro. I have only been there once but I remember the food was good. (Not a coffee drinker. Can't comment on the java.)

Christmas is a holiday and a family day. Most places will be closed on Christmas. The big dinner is on Nochebuena, Christmas Eve.
