I love the full moon setting over the ocean in the morning. It's worth getting up for. From what I can tell, there are many more Canadians relative to visitors from the US this year. I don't know how the hotels are doing with foreigners versus nationals. Restaurants are busy, but I don't see that many all inclusive wrist bands. Perhaps more Canadians we see are renting houses or apartments. Our golf group, mostly 65+, went up from about 10 before the new year to 20 now and it has more Canadians than it had in the past. We've done a team 'Ryder Cup' between the US and Canada for many years. The problem this year, is it's lopsided. Also, there isn't much backfilling as far as age is concerned for the golf group or in the expat community in general. We bought here in our 40's. Now, people we run into in their 40's are less likely to be owners and more likely to be children of owners in their 70's.

The full moonset is our favorite morning of the month. Today lived up to that expectation! Absolutely fabulous. Then, to watch the full moon rise tonight, FABULOUS!!!!

After a rainy Sunday evening, Zihuatanejo dwellers awoke to mostly clear skies Monday morning. The air was crisp and clean, making the blue in the sky look bluer, and all the colors more vivid. Beachgoers again showed up early and spent a lot of time taking selfies and refreshing themselves in the ocean, which was warmer than the morning air.

Merchants continue to comment that the majority of our foreign visitors appear to be Canadian, and from our stroll this evening along the waterfront the accents we heard would seem to bolster that notion.

The municipal government is finally taking down its Christmas decorations. The rain didn't do them much good, and in Plaza del Artista there are gold sparkles all over the place. Not good since they're a contaminant. But the decorations were mostly nice and low-key. They helped set the Christmas atmosphere.

After not seeing the sky for several days, the moonrise this evening was quite a sight. No more clouds or haze, just mind-blowing crystal clarity. Several people at the pier were taking photos with us as it rose while couples, friends and families strolled about. Smiles everywhere. The true magic of Mexico.
