I recommend going early in the day for money as they may run out of cash later in the day. A typical occurrence during periods of high tourism.

We enjoyed another absolutely beautiful refreshing morning this Wednesday. Much to the pleasure of our visitors who continue showing up. The local restaurants and coffee shops quickly filled up with visitors seeking coffee and breakfast before heading to the beaches all day.

We're seeing a good representation of middle-class tourists so far! Very encouraging for local merchants! Restaurants are also enjoying a high volume of clients. This is just what we need. ¡Qué bueno!

The Feria de Petatlán is happening, and it looks to be one of the best ever. Well organized and in a new setting with new installations. The food, the music, the market, the shows and the rides all look to be better than ever. I hope some of you will take the time to enjoy it. Be sure to go early enough that you aren't driving back after dark, or else stay in a local hotel in Petatlán, like we've done on occasion.

The mother and baby whale continue their presence in our bay. The lack of protection and respect being given them is extremely disappointing. The so-called authorities have proven to be useless, I'm disappointed to admit. I hope the Whales of Guerrero people can help them. I fear something is wrong, and instead of helping them, local boaters are only adding to their stress. The mother is having to produce milk even though I believe she hasn't eaten since leaving her northern home, since that is their normal behavior, and she had her baby late in the season. How long can she continue here alone?

Don't forget to get your pozole early this Thursday, otherwise the restaurants may fill up quickly and run out!

And remember, banks will be closed this Thursday until Monday.
