The crowds of visitors Saturday night eventually thinned out, but quite a few decided to keep the party going all night long. Apparently the municipal authorities didn't mind because bars were still full of drunks slurring their words and shouting over the music when I took my dog for a walk this morning. Always a fun sight to enjoy in the morning, especially for the visiting families walking by. ¡Pueblo Mágico!

It never did rain last night apart from the isolated sprinkles around the region. I was hoping to wake up to the smell of petrichor, but no such luck. But the sprinkles are a good sign!

The mar de fondo picked up overnight, and tragically a father and daughter drowned in the surf at Playa Blanca this Sunday. I don't know if it affected the pier at Playa Linda though I suspect it did, however I've seen no reports stating it was closed. According to the Marina de México, the mar de fondo is expected to continue for the next 48 hours with waves of 2 to 2.6 meters along the coast. Not terribly high waves, but they push massive amounts of water, and that's what makes them dangerous for swimmers.

My friend Benny Guzmán and his brothers won the main prize for the Torneo de Pez Vela. He's going to be bragging about it for years, but he worked hard for it so his friends will just have to put up with it. I'm glad the winner was a local.
