¡Feliz Día de Orgullo Gay!

I grew up having gay family and friends who had to hide their true selves from most of the world for much of my life, and it broke my heart to see people have to live a double life like that. So I appreciate what Pride Day means, and I especially appreciate seeing LGBTQ+ folks be able to simply be themselves in public, something most of us take for granted. LGBTQ+ folks still have a long ways to go towards universal acceptance, but it's damn good to see how far they've come.

I regret to inform friends of Joe Wells (QEPD) and Pipina of Casa Marina that their son Cristobal passed away yesterday. His family and friends are all devastated, as is to be expected whenever someone young and full of so much potential loses their life. A terrible loss for the Krebs family.

Once again, Zihuatanejo awoke to bright and clear sunny skies. A few clouds rolled in later in the afternoon, but right as the sun went down we got a nice little rain that cooled everything down, and it looks like it's going to continue. Two systems appear to be converging on our part of Mexico, one from the Gulf of Mexico side, and the last time that happened it rained hard for over a week washing out bridges and devastating parts of Guerrero. That doesn't appear to be the case this time, but best to keep an eye on the weather just in case.
