What a beautiful Thursday we enjoyed from sunup to sundown. Absolutely perfect weather with mostly sunny skies and a light tropical breeze with the fragrance of lush vegetation and the sea. Of course, in the mornings my favorite fragrances are fresh-brewed locally-grown coffee and delicious fresh pastries of a bakery.

We enjoyed licuados made with fresh strawberries, but we bought some fresh mangos for tomorrow's licuados. I'm so spoiled, I must be the luckiest Gringo in Mexico!

The parking area for the independent tourist buses has again been blocked by the property's owner just as our summer vacation season is about to start. Bummer for the tourists. I'm surprised after all these years our local government still doesn't have a solution to this problem. Like so many long-time problems, the can just keeps getting kicked down the road.

A mar de fondo effect is predicted to arrive this Friday and another one for next Tuesday. The waves are only predicted to be between 5 and 7 feet, but the massive amounts of water that push them can cause beach erosion and dangerous currents that can cause problems for swimmers along the coast facing the open ocean. In Zihuatanejo's bay the effects are much milder and not much of a problem. They could cause the pier at Playa Linda to be closed, though, and that kills business at Isla Ixtapa.

Graduation celebrations have been going on at many local restaurants. Gift shops have been doing a brisk business. A few more visitors seem to be around than were apparent yesterday, they seemed to show up late this afternoon. Things should really pick up this weekend as school officially lets out.
