Saturday morning we awoke to cloud cover in Zihuatanejo, which allowed the relative coolness of the morning to last longer. But once the sun came out, the heat kicked in, though it only got to 33°C. There was NO breeze for most of the day, just a brief period of gusting winds early in the morning when it looked like it might rain, then nothing.

The beaches filled up early today with hundreds of visitors. Some shopkeepers enjoyed more sales today than they've seen for most of the month, but that isn't saying much. Lots of folks from the inland cities were enjoying downtown Zihuatanejo's waterfront restaurants this evening, which is a good sign. More middle- and upper-class tourists are just what we need.

The mar de fondo seems to have calmed down a bit, the waves weren't as large today as they were yesterday. Since it hasn't rained for quite a while the water clarity is pretty good right now for snorkeling and diving.
