OR, some time ago when I had a cita in ACA to renew my passport, I took the bus down the previous afternoon, stayed overnight in a hotel across the street from the consular office, had my morning app't
the next morning, then afterward retuned to Zihua on the bus. It worked perfect. (No, 5hrs. is no fun) I don't believe there any direct Zih/Aca flights.

You make some very good points,
"Tienes toda la razón".

I think you changed my mind,
I may end up doing the round trip in ONE DAY,
on the Est. de Oro, (or the competitor),
& "suffer" the discomfort of two 5 hour bus trips.

Vaya Con Dios (reply)

In the past year I have started a habit. When I decide to do something I pause and ask myself, “Is this stupid?” I have been surprised how often the answer has been “Yes”, and I am appreciative of having asked myself.

If I were planning to take a taxi, leaving Zihuatanejo at about 3:00 a.m. to get to Acapulco by 7:30 a.m., I would ask myself that question. I’m pretty sure my answer for myself would be “Yes”.

That would be the case at any time of year, but during the rainy season? My answer would be “YES! What were you thinking?”

I would also be questioning to judgement of a taxi driver who agreed to drive me.

Set aside the aspects of crime. Set aside the aspects of flooding. (But come back to these later.)

Several years ago an acquaintance convinced a taxi driver to take them on a nighttime trip on Ruta 200. My acquaintance survived, but the taxi driver was killed by the head of the horse that he hit coming through the windshield.

Several months ago another acquaintance was nighttime driving from north of Lázaro Cárdenas to a morning flight out of ZIH. Five, count ‘em five, tractor-trailer trucks in a row were coming toward my acquaintance when the fifth truck decided pass the other four. Once again my acquaintance escaped with their life, but they will never do that nighttime drive again.

As the saying goes, “Your mileage may vary.” I

n Guerrero I often hear “Vaya con bueno”, but in this situation “Vaya con dios” might be more appropriate.

Taxi o Vuelo a Acapulco. (reply)

I have a taxi driver friend that would do this for you. I actually set him up with someone on another forum to drive to Acapulco. I have known him for about 7 years. His family has met us in Guadalajara and CDMX numerous times and took us everywhere. English is good not perfect but never had a problem communicating. He has a typical Sentra taxi and if needed he has an older Expedition. You can contact him at david061076@gmail.com. I already contacted him so he will be checking his email. You will enjoy riding with David.

Taxi o Vuelo a Acapulco.

7/21/2025

I usually use Estrella de Oro to go to Acapulco from here in Zihuatanejo.
This time I'm considering paying a taxi, or flying there, (IF the route has air service.)

If someone knows how much & what Taxi would do it,
that's what I'm inquiring about.
BTW, I need to arrive around 7 a.m in Acapulco, & return back to Zihuatanejo around noon or so.
