No rain last night, but the temperature remained mild and refreshing for locals. Terrific sleeping weather! And we expect more of the same tonight.

Thursday started off overcast but then the sun came out and it was a picture-postcard-perfect day with a gentle breeze. The downtown beach got fairly full today, and folks were enjoying themselves in the sun, in the shade, and in the water. Mostly large families, our principal visitors.

We expect more perfect weather for this Friday as August arrives. The weekend brings another chance of rain. We've had no effect from the storms out at sea, though I expect some waves will be showing up soon that should give surfers something to smile about since it's been slim pickings for them lately.

Most of the beachfront restaurants were full this evening, and sales were decent today for many downtown merchants. Unfortunately, the wandering vendors appear to still be having a hard time.

While I don't know the details, it's my understanding that the municipal government is going to actually respect the wishes of the local community in La Ropa and again prohibit buses from going there. A drag the locals have to keep pressuring the municipal government to keep their word and respect the wishes of the community. Now if only they'd ditch the stupid Blue Flag rules they've imposed on us against popular will, but the politicians have their egos involved in that one.
