Another overcast morning of painted skies delayed the heat of the day long enough for residents to enjoy their morning walks and runs as well as to run their morning chores and go to the market, though once the sun came out it warmed up quickly, reaching around 32°C just after midday.

It was another perfect beach day, a shame there weren't more visitors to enjoy it. Admittedly there were a few, but still below the numbers we would like to see. Local merchants enjoyed some sales, but the restaurants weren't very busy today or this evening when we strolled by. However, there's a Callejoneada currently taking place, and a lot of people were at the museum where it is just now getting underway. And there's going to be some good music at the Cancha this evening as well.

Turtles seem to be arriving with more regularity. I counted 3 sets of tracks on the beach this morning, and late last night there was a small crowd watching one lay her eggs in front of Plaza del Artista while the Bomberos waited to remove the eggs to La Ropa, a policy I'm not in agreement with since they return to the beach where they hatch, meaning eventually none will return to Playa Principal or Playa La Madera if this poorly-conceived policy continues.

This Saturday we're expecting a mar de fondo event with waves from 2 to 3 meters. Great for surfers, but possibly dangerous for bathers at beaches fronting the open ocean. Keep an eye out for strong currents, riptides and undertows.

Remember, the Eco-Tianguis "Sanka" happens every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the small plaza in front of the Vicente Guerrero school, across the street from the Museo Arqueológico de la Costa Grande in downtown Zihuatanejo by the waterfront where La Boquita canal runs into the bay.
