Our weather couldn't be more perfect, except we could use a bit of rain, though there is none in the foreseeable forecast. We're enjoying bright sunny days, with high temps around 31°C and overnight lows around 22°C. The humidity feels perfect to me, but it might still feel a bit muggy to folks from drier climes. A light breeze made it feel quite comfortable throughout most of the day. Surfers are somehow enjoying the waves at Saladita, but they aren't very large. You can watch them on the webcam on my BEACHES page.

The Guadalupanos continue marching and carrying their images to the two main local churches to be blessed: La Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe and El Angelus. Thursday is the biggest day for celebrating when many of Mexico's most revered musicians pay homage at the Basílica de Guadalupe in the evening, an event that will be shown on national TV as well as on YouTube. Friday is Día de Guadalupe which we celebrate like a birthday for everyone named Guadalupe. But Thursday night is when everyone will come downtown to enjoy the events in the streets around the church. There will be food, music and dancing. It's one of the most beautiful and revered events of the year for Mexicans.

Hats off to the municipal government for preventing the Guadalupano marchers from setting off skyrockets this year. What a difference! No terrified or lost pets. No people having anxiety attacks. The bay is full of seabirds. Good job! ¡Muchas gracias!

The strike at the Emporio Hotel is over. The workers' union won, and now the hotel is again open for business. Congratulations to the workers!
