Although schools don't officially let out until next week, we're already seeing an increase in the numbers of families vacationing here. But this weekend things will quickly change as a deluge of Christmas vacationers flood our beaches, lodgings, restaurants, and streets until January 12 when school starts back up. Forget peace and quiet for the next 3 to 4 weeks. There will be a constant din of background noise almost wherever you go. And it will be crowded. That's the one thing you can count on. Stock up now on essentials and get money you need from the local ATMs before the crowds arrive. You'll be glad you did.

CAPAZ issued a beach water quality report today showing all our local beaches well within the safe parameters of 200 ppm. La Ropa in front of La Perla actually had higher results than Playa Principal, for all you folks who doubt Playa Principal is a safe place to swim. Click here to see it.

Rain clouds were visible in the sierra. What a tease to see them, but they're so beautiful, too. The ocean is so calm there are NO waves on the downtown beach. Haven't been any for days, and none are predicted for the near future. The water is clearing up and cooling down.
