I don't believe this was recently........................Yes, there have been reports of fatal shark attacks involving tourists, including an American teenager from Maryland in late 2023 near Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, Mexico, who died from injuries sustained while spear fishing, highlighting the risk of shark encounters, especially with Bull Sharks, in the area, despite previous years of relative calm.

Has anyone heard about a shark attack at the Ranch?

Yes. 3-4 days ago a teenager spear fishing by himself got bit on the hip where the fish was attached to him and he died.
