Jueves pozolero began with a refreshing morning like so many we've been enjoying lately. As usual, we greeted many of our friends and neighbors on our stroll with our dog Blue, who at nearly 18 years old and half blind still prances along like a much younger pup.

Local merchants reported an increase in sales today. But local restaurants were complaining that sales for them were down. It was indeed a slow night from what we saw on our evening stroll. It was a joy to run into our friends, Carlos and Jorge, the owners of Tentaciones Hotel & Restaurant and Espuma Mediterráneo Restaurant, whom we've known since they arrived here three and a half decades ago.

Another frustrating day for surfers with practically no waves to speak of along our coast. But with the low wave action, the water is clear for snorkeling and diving. And charter captains continue reporting lots of whale activity as well as good fishing for tuna. It's a good time to be on and in the water.

This Friday don't miss the Fandango Costeña in Plaza del Artista beginning at 6:30 P.M. The folkloric music and dancing is some of the best anywhere, and it represents the essence of Guerrero.
