However, the ocean is perfect, very very flat and very very clear. It gave us a gorgeous paddle and swim.

For the last about 10 days, we are seeing three new to us rays off of la ropa. They are large, dark grey on top and brownish underneath. Flat nose. Nothing we have ever seen here and so far we are searching for their identities. They seem to like to hang out with the spotted eagle rays.

Watch for them! Several of the people who paddle daily have spoken to us about them, so they aren't shy...

The c-c-c-cold mornings are back! Officially it dipped down to 19°C this Monday morning, but it felt even cooler. Had me dreaming of wearing longjohns!

For those in need of renewing your driving license, the municipal government announced today that they are once again issuing licenses after some "technical adjustments".

A big shout out to Helen and Dan whom I met Sunday evening in Plaza del Artista as Lupita and I were stepping out for a stroll. A beautiful couple who told me they've been married for 62 years, if I recall correctly, and visiting Zihuatanejo for 20 years. A respectably long time. The love still shines in your faces. What an inspiration you are!

I'm happy to report that the newly opened restaurant where Daniel's used to be on the downtown waterfront next to the Cancha Municipal, now called El Dani, has ceased playing loud music after their big opening weekend. So feel free to give them a try and let us know about your experience here.

For those wondering about safety in Mexico, over 400,000 people showed up in Mexico City's Zócalo last night for a free concert by Shakira, and there were no incidents. Mighty impressive. ¡Viva México!
