Today was one of those very rare, only a handful of times a year days, where not only was the entire bay glasslike, the visibility, in the ENTIRE bay, was incredible! Like being in an aquarium, or with no water at all. SO much to see, turtles, spotted eagle rays, schools of different fish, yellow and guinea puffers, pretty much anything you could imagine. Hope tomorrow is as good!! Living in paradise!

Monday morning the air was cool again until the sun rose over the hill. Once the sun came out the day warmed up quickly, but the temperature still remained mild, barely reaching 31°C. A nice westerly breeze kept us quite comfortable indoors and out. I saw a few thunderheads off the coast and others way up in the sierra, but we're not likely to see a drop of rain until the middle of May at the earliest. With El Niño forming up in the Pacific, we could be in for an interesting rainy season.

Once again the bay was glass calm this morning. Waves aren't expected to even reach a meter high along the open ocean for the next couple of days at least.

This should be a very slow week for local merchants with very few national visitors around and a dwindling number of foreign visitors. The calm before the storm. This coming Thursday afternoon and evening we'll start seeing a few folks trickling in. Vacation homes and condos that sit mostly empty for most of the year will soon be full of families, many quite large, here for a week or two. Beaches, streets and restaurants will quickly fill up with folks arriving by bus and by car. Hopefully incoming national flights will also be full. Our calm and peaceful little town will fast become noisy and crowded as it does every year for Semana Santa. And the bars and cars will be thumping until the wee hours and right into daylight. Oh boy. Can't hardly wait.

Like many local families, we have family coming to stay with us for the vacation period. So we'll be burning the candle at both ends and then some.
