Sometime in the middle of the night the temperature dipped down to 22°C until the sun came up this Thursday morning. Had to pull the sheet up over me and turn the fan down. Enjoying it while it lasts. The weather should be the same this Friday.

There was a huge fire Wednesday evening on the hill just past Agua de Correa above Colonia La Esperanza. No local media reported anything about it, so I've no idea if there were victims or if the person responsible was arrested or fined. If only we had a real local news media, not just propaganda outlets for politicians.

A reminder that this is the time of year when alacranes are very active. Shake out your towels and clothing before using them, check your bed, ALWAYS shake your shoes upside down before putting them on. These things are automatic for most of us who've lived here a long time.

Also, please be careful with water. There are parts of town that haven't had running water for weeks.

The big dinner for the fishermen in the Torneo de Pez Vela was this Thursday evening. As usual, they left a corridor for folks to be able to easily access the pier. See how easy that is to do? There were a lot of people there, but it wasn't exactly full. I believe they set off this Friday morning at 7:00 A.M. They're supposed to return before 3:00 P.M. to register any fish.
