Our cool mornings are over. The coolest it got overnight weas 26°C. For Lupita and me no big deal since we've been acclimating ourselves so that we remain comfortable sleeping with windows open listening to the sounds of the surf, but if you live in an air-conditioned environment you're probably going to have a miserable summer in our region.

The rains forecast for early this Tuesday morning were barely a sprinkle. Not even enough to wash the dust off the plants. But heavy rains remain in the forecast for the region, though I doubt we'll see anything more than sprinkles. My sister-in-law who lives on a hill just outside Mexico City said the sky fell today, and it rained extremely hard there, causing lots of flooding in low lying areas.

This Friday is the first day of the 2026 Hurricane Season for the eastern Pacific. Time to take stock of what preparations you need to make and how you'll ride out any big storms that may hit us. Don't wait until it's too late.

The ocean temperature has warmed up to 29°C. The surf has dropped down a bit from what it was to around a meter, but it's expected to pick up again to just under 2 meters this coming Friday and Saturday. Surfers should still find mostly rideable waves at favorite local spots for much of the week and through the weekend.
