As I predicted in last evening's musings, there were huge celebrations after Cruz Azul won the championship of the Liga Mexicana de Fútbol last night. Cars were driving around honking and their occupants shouting, adorned with flags and paraphernalia of Cruz Azul, and folks along the streets were joining in the festivities. Cruz Azul is very popular in our region because they sometimes do their off-season training here while staying at the Azul Ixtapa resort.

The humidity drops each morning right around dawn, but it remains high during the night, so air flow is key to sleeping comfortably at this time of year. Fan placement is everything. We have a ceiling fan and a tall floor fan in our bedroom, a combination that has kept us comfortable for decades.

The waves were just under 2 meters this Monday. It looks like they'll get down to about 1.3 meters during most of the rest of the week before jumping up to about 2.5 meters on June 1st, just in time for Día de la Marina and the swim across the bay from Las Gatas to Playa Principal.

Quiote a few visitors are around, but they aren't wandering around the downtown area very much except on their way to and from the pier to get to Las Gatas and back. In Ixtapa they simply don't leave their all-included hotels.
