This is the only official acknowledgement of Alex's death from the Comisión de Derechos Humanos del Estado de Guerrero. It's possible they have info that hasn't been released to the public, but it's also possible they've been fooled by all the AI reporting and images.

I want to stress that apart from this message, there has been no formal announcement by SEMEFO or the Fiscalía del Estado. Officially, Alex isn't even missing. A missing person's report was made public, then withdrawn. So everything is speculation at this point except that Alex hasn't posted anything since June 20. I've been urging folks to copy and save his videos in case his Facebook page is removed. If he is a prisoner of someone he was denouncing, they'll want access to delete his evidence, including his public posts.

Informativo la costa via Zihuatanejo let’s chat claims he has been found dead with signs of violence. Is this not true? If it is, it is a terrible thing.

They are one of the sources of much false information. Always have been. Any way around, the onus for his safe return seems to be falling directly on the shoulders of the mayor and her husband. Until there is an investigation with strong evidence showing otherwise, the majority of people are going to blame them. Of course, the other people Alex investigated will also be under scrutiny. Alex's info will now be shared more than ever.

Whoever is responsible for his disappearance, they picked the wrong time and place to pull this kind of crap. This is not going to just go away. But the silence from the municipal government is damning in itself and suggests a conscience of guilt.

La Canícula is here and the heat and humidity remain extremely high. The heat index has been around 40°C day after day this week, allegedly reaching 49.3°C last Wednesday afternoon. Rain danced around on the horizon this Friday afternoon, but it never reached downtown Zihuatanejo. Looked like it may have rained good at Playa Blanca, though. Lucky them.

A lot of false info and AI-generated images have been going around regarding the disappearance of Alex Serna. I fell for it at first, but the more of them I saw, the more I realized they all had similar things in common: they were new and unknown media sources, and "IA" was mentioned somewhere in many of them as the source. So I'm holding out hope that Alex may still be found alive. His disappearance has made national and international news including in Milenio and the Financial Times.

There's also been a lot of false info going around about the TIME of the upcoming game this Sunday between Mexico and England. The Brits apparently wanted the time changed for their fans at home and all that advertising money, but fortunately cooler heads prevailed and it remains set for 6PM.

Hardly any visitors were visible this evening along the waterfront. A few people were watching the fútbol game at the Cancha, but not many. It's just too hot without at least a fan or some moving air, and there's NO breeze this evening.

Imagine waking up here in the mornings at one of the bungalows at Casa Ki on the beach in Troncones, a peaceful remote tropical village on the warm and friendly southern coast of Mexico: a place where natural beauty still rules and time seems to slow down and stretch out at the same time.
