As I predicted, last night's forecast with a high chance of rain turned out to be another dud. Somehow a large storm passed over us and we didn't get a drop of rain. But the good news is the eggheads at Protección Civil del Estado de Guerrero say La Canícula is ending this week. There's a huge area of low pressure off our coast that's very likely to form into a hurricane in a few days, and apparently it's pushing away the low-pressure system that had been keeping us from getting much rain and getting our rainy season back underway. I'll believe it when I see it, but keeping fingers crossed.

This Monday seemed a wee tad milder than previous days. Maybe we're just getting used to it, but we weren't drenched in sweat after our morning walk this morning like previous days. But the evening on the waterfront was still pretty damn hot. Hardly anyone out, and waterfront restaurants only had a couple of tables, if any, mostly extranjeros. Sales were slow today, but at least there were some, thank goodness.

The barra opened up at Barra de Potosí. The fishing will be good there for the next several days at least.

Surfers have been enjoying themselves, and it looks like conditions will remain favorable for surfers right into next weekend. The water temperature remains very warm at around 31.2C°, and some fish including tuna are getting hard to find.
