Saturday evening we had a nice light soaking rain, but it again left the pier too muddy to enjoy. I felt sorry for our visitors who tramped through it for their big day at Playa Las Gatas, the pinnacle of their vacation for so many of our weekend visitors. And of course, the pier remains in darkness after sunset, and the entire parking lot to reach El Almacén and La Noria is a muddy disaster.

The rain was sporadic throughout the day, but it was still a lovely day with mild temperatures. We bought fresh fruit and tortillas at the mercado to enjoy with huevos, frijoles and fresh locally grown coffee. A simple but delicious breakfast. For la comida we enjoyed delicious pollo rostizado with salad, spaghetti, arroz, tortillas, and frijoles (no es comida sin tortillas y frijoles)

The rain continued into Sunday evening. Nevertheless, a cultural event with dancers and music was taking place at the Cancha Municipal as we walked by while it was only sprinkling. However, the thunder and lightning continue, and it's going to be a refreshing night of perfect sleeping weather.

The oceanfront beaches continue suffering extreme erosion, and Playa La Madera as well as Playa El Palmar have been mostly useless during the past few days due to the extreme tides. At least there's currently no mar de fondo effect.

Something big and swirly is forming up in the Bahía de Tehuántepec. These are the ones that usually make trouble for us, so stay alert and keep an eye on it.
