Leaf blowers suck!!! Several places near us have gone to the quiet ones that are rechargeable. Better, but still.

Then there are the cities new, in the last 2 years, street sweepers. REALLY???? Most days they go by the dolphins on la ropa twice, once in each direction, but on Sunday, they always do the same circuit twice. The human street sweepers did a much better job, every week or two. The mechanical ones don't seem to do much.

Think about it, use people, be quiet and achieve something.

However, it's beautiful, the weather is great and so are we!

Wednesday morning we awoke to a cloudless sky. The coolness of the overnight temperatures still lingered and made for a very pleasant morning for getting chores done and enjoying the outdoors. A shame the city uses leafblowers in certain sections of the walkway along La Boquita canal instead of raking or sweeping. All they do is make noise and kick up clouds of dust.

There was a general euphoria in Mexico this Wednesday because of the results of the USA's election. Signs of sanity in the USA are reassuring to folks in the rest of the world. The challenge remains turning the election results into positive actions and policies. The evil and the distrust are still there. Brown-skinned people are still being rounded up and treated inhumanely by the U.S. government. Ukraine is still being betrayed, war crimes and crimes against humanity continue being committed in the name of We The People. And a loathsome criminal emboldened by a stacked and errant Supreme Court is still the U.S. president, and he continues defying the Constitution on a daily basis while threatening the world and insulting anyone who disagrees with him.

Clouds showed up this evening looking like it wanted to rain, at least in the sierra. Rain remains in the forecast for this Thursday as well as this Saturday, but I don't have my hopes up.

The water temperature has fallen below 30°C, currently around 29.4°C. There was a light breeze around the middle of the day, but was hardly noticeable for folks running errands downtown where the temperature reached 32°C and the humidity remained high.

One thing that was worrisome that we saw in Agua de Correa on Monday was that the stream that gives the community its name and that runs between the old part of the panteón and the newer part was bone dry. It's still technically the rainy season, and I don't ever recall seeing the arroyo this dry at this time of the year. Not a good sign at all for the coming months. Residents there are also quite upset with the municipal government for cutting down trees along the arroyo, which obviously doesn't help matters.

Enjoy your pozole this Thursday!
