It sounds like you're staying close to where we'll be in a couple of weeks, across from the Sotavento.

Glad to hear that all is calm, can't wait to unplug and de-stress.

As our friends always say when we arrive, "Welcome home!"" I agree with you about stepping out of the airplane and that first wave of heat and the smell of sea water and just - IT'S ZIHUATANEJO!!!!!!

Enjoy your vacation! I can't wait to be there but for me it's another 21 days before I arrive and it's -40* here today. Yikes! Too bad you couldn't use WestJet as it sure would have been an easier schedule and they fly to Zihua 3 times a week now. And if you use AirMiles, it can't be any cheaper than free. Even with the fees, taxes and insurance, it's a good deal for something that doesn't cost me as all I buy normally gets me AirMiles...

Grumpy in Lake Cowichan — Thu, 23 Jan 2014 00:55:32 +0000

Well we made it down to our favourite holiday spot once again....... Harder and harder to fly here from Vancouver Island......... Flew Alaska for the first time , got the card , got the air miles , used the companion fare and flew from Victoria to Seattle afternoon....... 3 hour layover ......Seattle to LAX getting in at 10 pm then off to the LAX Marriott as our last leg to Zihua departs at 10 am........ Used Hotwire for the first time as well........Hotel was good Starbucks in the lobby for Mrs Grumpy in the early am got the shuttle to the airport at 7:45 and all went well at the airport....... Plane left a little late but we got in around 3:45 pm local time yesterday........ Gets me every time when I walk out the plane way....... The warm breeze hot sun and moist air...... Feels like home........ Even with the hotel in LA Alaska was cheaper then the other option Westjet....No other planes in so customs was quick and our friend Carlos was waiting outside the baggage area for us......... We went to the right paid for a taxi and off we went...... Stopped at La Comet for groceries and cash and then we headed for our condo on Playa La Ropa....... Able to get settled unpacked and make the first Sunset......... Great views from the condo and decided to have dinner in and watch the bay.......... We always feel fortunate to be able to travel to Zihua and this was going to be a great trip.......... Fell alsepp listening to the waves crash on La Ropa........More tomorrow
