What we do is not the most economical, but certainly the most fun: we fish for a few hours enroute to the island and then have El Indio cook our catch while we snorkel at Playa Coral. We use Guillermo Arciniega 044-755-100-8085 Feeding the fish in the surf your left-over tortillas is also quite entertaining; they'll take pieces right out of your hand.

I agree with Marcos. You can taxi or take a bus to Playa Linda (or if you're buying lunch I could give you a ride) and take the water taxi to La Isla. It's best to get there as early as possible! You can even have breakfast there.

Take a taxi from Zihuat to Playa Linda, once your there you can pay for a round trip water taxi that will take you to and from Ixtapa Island. One would think you would be able to take a water taxi from the pier to the Island. But I haven't been able to do that. Perhaps haggle and offer money to a panga captain down on the pier that would drive you up there. The problem is when it's time to leave the island you will not have ride back to the mainland.
The easiest route would be leaving from Playa Linda

What is the easiest (and most economical) method of going to Ixtapa Island from Zihua? Is there a Taxi service that runs daily routes from Z pier to the Island. If so, what is the cost? Thanks for any input.
